Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on transforming part of my large garden since I can't keep up with mowing the grass – it just grows way too fast. I have two dogs, so I want to explore options other than grass. I've been thinking about creating a moss garden because it's low-maintenance, soft, and durable. However, I'm a bit clueless about whether this is a good idea or if there are better alternatives. I'd love to hear your suggestions!

I set up a bark chipped area just for my dog, and it's been a game changer compared to grass! It's super easy to maintain and decomposes nicely to enrich the soil if we decide not to get another dog. Just a heads up, though: moss and clover might not handle dog waste very well, especially when it comes to the ammonia in urine. It could get patchy over time.
Definitely look into microclover! It's perfect if you dislike mowing. You could also consider native white clover for your dogs to frolic in. Just remember, moss needs to stay pretty damp; otherwise, it might brown up.
Micro clover could be your best bet! I personally love the idea of a moss lawn, but keep in mind that moss grows slowly, so it might take years to replace your grass. Just a thought!
