Hey everyone! I really dislike my current granite countertops in my kitchen, dining room, and bathrooms. They're way too busy and dominate my design choices. I know going back to granite later could be an option since they're still beautiful, and I don't want to damage them with paint or tiles. I'm looking for something that has staying power and would love your thoughts on whether I can put laminate over them. What do you think?

Step away from the granite! At the end of the day, it’s your home, but I’d really think twice before covering it up. Maybe get a decorator’s input first?
If you really want an alternative, maybe consider a thin butcher block on top. Just be careful as gluing and screwing it down might ruin the granite underneath. You’d have to weigh that risk!

Technically, you could do it with a good contact adhesive, but it’s not worth the hassle. It could bubble and look bad, plus it's messy! The best adhesives can spray everywhere and require strong solvents for cleanup, which can be hazardous in tight spaces. Honestly, if you were in my shop asking about this, I’d advise against it – it could end up looking terrible.
