I've successfully hardened off my tomatoes, basil, and peppers and they've been outside for about a week. I intended to plant them in the ground soon, but it looks like night temperatures are going to drop to 49°F this weekend. Should I move them back indoors, or would that stress them out more than just enduring a couple of chilly nights?

From my experience, 50°F at night won't damage hardened plants. Your tomatoes, peppers, and basil should be good to stay put. If you're super worried though, you can always cover them for extra protection!
In theory, I usually bring my plants inside if it's going to be below 50°F. But honestly, 49°F is just so close that it really depends on how lazy I feel at the time!
