Hey everyone! I've been super busy and didn't manage to plant anything outside yet. I'm thinking about planting some radishes in containers since I can keep those in a spot that gets some shade after about 4-6 hours of morning sun. But I'm really unsure about my onions. I got a bit overzealous and bought 100 onion sets about a month ago, and they've started sprouting while just sitting in my garage. According to the experts, they take about 100 days to reach maturity. This weekend marks the last frost date for my area based on the farmer's almanac, and after that, temps will range from about 73-75°F until mid-June, climbing into the 80s. So, is it too late to plant these onions?

You should be just fine! Onions are pretty resilient, so even if you're planting a little late, they can still thrive. Just get them in the pots this week!
Onions actually grow best from seeds since they're biennials. But no worries, they're pretty cold tolerant! I started mine back in February, and even when we had some nights down in the 20s, they were okay. I planted them out in April and they did great!
Thanks! I guess it'll be yet another learning experience for next year. I'm just going to plant them anyway rather than let them go to waste. If nothing else, we’ll be eating a lot of green onions this year! ?
