How Can I Manage Pollen Allergies While Gardening?

I'm really enjoying my time outdoors lately as I work on expanding my garden, but I've been struggling with horrible pollen allergies. My eyes get so itchy and watery, and my throat feels sore and congested. I hoped my body would adjust after a few days, but it's only gotten worse! Over-the-counter allergy medications barely seem to help. Is anyone else facing this? What tricks do you use to keep gardening without the allergy issues?

I've found that taking Reactine in the morning helps a ton. After I'm done gardening, I like to wipe my face with a damp cloth, especially after weeding to clean off any pollen. And don’t forget eye drops! They can really help with that dry, gritty feeling you get from the pollen. I also wear a hat to keep pollen out of my hair and shade my eyes a bit.

Flonase (or its generic version) has been my lifesaver! It really reduces the symptoms for me. You might want to give that a try.

I always wear a mask and my floppy hat when gardening, and I rely on Allegra and some nasal spray. Allergy season peaks around this time, but hang in there; it gets better as the weather shifts!

Have you tried something like Bioallers? It’s a natural remedy that acts like allergy shots but with smaller doses of the allergens. It does take a few days to start working, but I've found it super effective for managing my allergies.
