Is the Lie-Nielsen 49 Sufficient for American Peasant Projects?

Hey everyone! I'm considering working through Chris Schwarz's American Peasant book and it references using the Lie-Nielsen No. 48 plane. I have a No. 49, and I'm curious if I can achieve similar results with it. Specifically, if I'm using thicker stock, will my tongues and grooves end up being centered like they should? Any insights would be appreciated!

I think you'll be just fine using the No. 49! I have both a Stanley 48 and 49, and I've tackled projects from the book without a hitch. It's pretty versatile! Just keep in mind that for thicker stock, you might run into some issues with centering, but it's workable.
