Hey everyone! I'm new to woodworking and I recently bought some raw wood veneer to use with my laser cutter. However, I'm facing a problem – the sheets have a noticeable curve and I really need them to be flat for cutting. I've tried wetting them down and pressing them, but they just end up warping again. Any advice on how to get these sheets perfectly flat? Also, I'm using these veneers on thin plywood and I added my own paper backing, which might be contributing to the warping. Should I try using them without the paper? Thanks a lot!

I’ve had good luck with a product called Super Soft Veneer Softener Conditioner. It’s meant to help flatten out veneers. Just keep in mind that some types of veneer might not get perfectly flat without some kind of reinforcement on the back. Just follow the instructions carefully and see how it goes!
Is this typical for all veneers? I didn’t know about paper-backed options when I got my raw veneer and now I'm stuck with this warping issue.
