I'm dealing with a bit of a situation here. Cats keep using my garden as their toilet, and I'm wondering if they'll ever stop on their own or if I need to take serious measures like putting spikes in the ground. I don't mind cats in general, but I really hate finding their mess in my flower beds! What can I do to stop this?

One of the best ways to deter cats is by planting your garden tightly together. If there aren’t bare spots, they’re less likely to dig around. In the meantime, securing the area with chicken wire or branches can help keep them out until your plants grow in well. Just make sure to cover all bare spots!
I’ve tried a bunch of deterrents, but the easiest and cheapest method I found was to scatter twiggy branches throughout my garden beds. It creates a barrier that cats don’t like to cross. Just watch out for gaps because they’ll sniff out any empty space!
I had the same issue, and surprisingly, leaving onion peels or lemon slices around worked wonders for me! Cats apparently hate the smell, so you might want to give that a shot. You can also try using 'get off my garden' gel crystals for more of a scent deterrent.
