Why Should You Wax Your Table Saw?

I'm curious about the reasons for waxing a table saw. Does it really help make the wood slide more easily across the surface, or are there other benefits to consider?

Waxing has two main benefits: it makes the surface smoother for sliding boards and it helps prevent rust from moisture. So, it’s definitely worth doing for both maintenance and improved performance!

I use cheap soap instead of wax on my thicknesser table, and honestly, it works great for lubrication! You’d be surprised at how much smoother it makes the process. But, yeah, hard wax is generally preferred for a table saw.

Interesting take! I've always just gone for the regular wax, but I might have to try soap to see if it really makes a difference.
