Hey everyone! I recently switched out my pneumatic pin nailer for an electric one, and I'm planning to do the same with my brad nailer soon. This got me thinking: now my loud air compressor will just be used for blowing sanding dust off my projects. I've been eyeing those cordless air dusters and am curious if they can really replace compressed air entirely. I mean, can they effectively remove sanding dust from the wood grain? Have any of you tried them?

I use a Makita 18v duster, and it has completely replaced my compressor when it comes to blowing off dust. Super handy!
From my experience, those cordless dusters lack the focused power of a compressor. They're decent for general dusting, but struggle with finer details. If you only need it for dusting, I'd still recommend using a vacuum with a brush attachment. That way, you avoid the nuisance of dust settling everywhere.
That makes sense! I've been considering just switching to vacuuming too, especially since I've moved to a more climate-controlled space and want to keep things dust-free.
I picked up a Wolfbox duster for $30 on Amazon. It has good airflow but struggles with really fine dust, especially in the grain of red oak. It can blow dust from about 6-8 feet away though!
Yeah, I saw a video where they tested the Wolfbox. It's one of the few that might actually get into red oak grain. I've thought of getting Ridgid's compact blower for more CFM, but still wondering how effective it would be.
