Electric vs. Gas Concrete Saws: What’s the Best Choice?

I'm in the market for a concrete saw since I handle about five patios, walkways, and walls each year. I'm curious about the electric saws priced around $400 and the battery-powered Milwaukee options that cost around $1,000 (batteries and chargers included). These are comparable to the gas-powered Husqvarna I've been using, which I often borrow from my father-in-law, but I'm looking for something I can own myself. Should I invest in the gas version for durability, or is it worth considering the electric ones?

I grabbed an electric saw from Amazon and it works like a charm for my needs, which is about three to four uses a summer. Just keep in mind, it might trip the breaker if you're not on a 20-amp circuit, especially if you're at a client’s place without the right power supply. Might want to check on that!

Right, that could be a deal-breaker if clients can't support it. Better to be safe and confirm their setup before buying!

I’ve used battery-powered ones, and honestly, they tend to die out pretty quickly. The electric saws can also be a hassle since they usually need a generator to avoid tripping breakers. If you can swing it, I’d recommend going for the gas option, but watch out because Sthil's quality has been iffy lately. Just a heads up!

That's true! I've been hearing mixed reviews about Sthil's durability. It's always better to invest in something that will last!
