I've recently been diagnosed with epilepsy, so I'm not able to drive right now. Gardening season is in full swing, and I've been relying on family to help me get supplies, but it's becoming a challenge. I'm thinking about ordering some soil from Home Depot today since I have some free time. The trouble is, I keep seeing conflicting information about who actually handles these deliveries. Some people mention that smaller deliveries often get outsourced to services like DoorDash or Instacart, which makes me uneasy since I'd rather have someone who's used to heavy, demanding deliveries. Has anyone here had experience with Home Depot's delivery for soil or mulch? Should I wait until I can get help from my family, or is it safe to order?

As an Instacart shopper, I can tell you that orders for larger items like soil aren’t something I typically take on. They’re hard to manage alongside regular grocery deliveries. Even if the tip was nice, it's just not worth the hassle when it comes to the space in my vehicle.
You might want to consider contacting a local lawn care company for bulk soil delivery. It could actually be more affordable than ordering bagged soil from Home Depot.

If you’re ordering that amount, you’ll probably need a forklift since it will come on pallets. I just got 2 pallets delivered recently, and unfortunately, I think most big retailers use third-party drivers now. The driver I had was great, so I tipped him $20!
Exactly! I’m worried about whether it’ll really be delivered by a Home Depot employee or not. I don’t want to put anyone in that position if they don’t usually handle those kinds of deliveries.
