Where Can I Find Oregon Grape and Damson Trees?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to purchase young Oregon grape and damson trees. I've checked out several local garden centers, but many of them didn't even recognize the names or said they're too unpopular. It's been a frustrating search! I'm really in need of established young plants rather than seeds or roots since I don't have the time to care for seedlings or saplings right now. I'm located in South West Wales, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a ton!

You might have better luck if you ask for 'Mahonia' instead of Oregon grape, since that’s the name a lot of folks use. As for damson trees, consider looking for bare root options online, particularly in the autumn. If you want them to stay smaller, try finding ones with a dwarfing rootstock!

Oh, that makes sense! I'll definitely start asking for Mahonia. Thanks for the tip!

Both Oregon grape and damson trees can be ordered online! However, it’s best to plant them during winter for better growth. If you're looking for damson trees, I found that jparkers offers 2-year-old ones, though they might be a bit pricey. As for the Oregon grape, it seems like a bit of a treasure hunt! Keep searching, you might just stumble across one!

Thanks for the heads up on jparkers! Still on my quest for the Oregon grape, though. I see them around, just can't find one to buy!
