Hey everyone! I've got about 140 board feet of rough sawn genuine Honduran Mahogany taking up space in my garage. These boards are mostly around 6 feet long, 12/4 thick, and about 8 inches wide. I originally bought them 15-20 years ago from Youngbloods in Minneapolis for a project that never materialized, and now I'm considering selling them. Before I do, I'm curious about their current market value. Also, if I wanted to replace them with authentic big-leaf mahogany in the future, how hard would that be? I really love this wood, but I'm running out of storage space and need to make a decision. I'm based in the Dallas area. What are your thoughts?

You might want to look into the CITES regulations for big-leaf Honduran mahogany before you sell. It might be tricky since it seems like rough sawn lumber has some restrictions. Just a heads up!
From what I've seen, places that still sell Honduran mahogany are asking about $80-100 per board foot these days. If your boards are in good condition, you might be sitting on a good amount of cash!
Thanks for the info! I’ll definitely do some research on pricing.
I bought some genuine mahogany last year at retail for $7 per board foot, but that’s probably not the same kind. Your boards might be worth more considering their age and quality!

Yeah, I get that. It looks like as long as it's already in the US and you're not exporting, you should be fine. Just check the rules to be safe!
