How Can I Reduce Traffic Noise in My New Home?

I recently moved into a gorgeous new house, but I didn't expect how much noise comes from the busy four-way stop right behind my place. I'm considering building a fence, but that's pretty pricey. Does anyone have suggestions for effective ways to cut down on traffic noise while I wait for the trees I've planted to grow? I love this home, and it's a bummer to have that distracting noise!

Have you thought about planting bamboo? It grows super fast, which is great for quick cover against noise. Plus, if you decide it’s not for you, it’s not too hard to remove.

If you want some quick and affordable fixes, consider removable storm windows, insulation, or even just good caulking. Plus, bushes might be a better choice than trees for covering noise; some can grow pretty tall in a few years! Also, think about the layout of your yard; a small tool shed could help block some sound too.

Hey there! You might want to try a white noise machine; they can really help mask outside sounds when you’re indoors. I used to live near a busy road and honestly, after a while, I barely noticed the noise anymore!
