Hey everyone! I'm reaching out because I'm not having the best growing year and I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one dealing with this. My seedlings aren't coming up as I expected—I've lost quite a few to snails, and some just got too hot in my sunroom. The only plants that seem to be flourishing are the peppers. My courgettes, marrows, and cucumbers are doing okay, but I'm considering just buying some plants this year instead of relying on my own seedlings. Is anyone else experiencing similar issues?

You're definitely not alone! It's only May after all. I usually start my seedlings and then fill in gaps with store-bought plugs while I figure out what went wrong. It’s all part of the gardening journey—you're bound to have a few setbacks along the way. I even lost a couple of sunflowers to a bird yesterday! Just nature being nature, right?

What kind of bird got to your sunflowers? I have a ton of birds around, but they seem to prefer other plants.
