How Can I Fix Water Pooling Between My House and Garage?

Hey everyone, I recently bought a house and I've noticed that whenever it rains, water tends to pool in this awkward space between my house and the garage. The previous owner extended the garage, creating a kind of enclave that captures the water, which then flows into the garage. I'm looking for some advice on how to deal with this issue. I'm contemplating building an overhang on the right side to store some items and redirect the water onto the garage roof, leading it into the gutter. Alternatively, I might need to consider installing a drain. What do you think? Any recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks!

It sounds like you might have a couple of problems going on. From the photo angles, it looks like the gutters where they meet might not be set up right. You should definitely get a couple of estimates from local professionals who can give you a thorough look at the situation. If you decide to tackle it yourself, having some expert advice can really help you out!

I totally get that! I’ll take a better shot of the gutter area and share it. Hopefully, that’ll give me better insight.
