I'm looking to dive deeper into cabinetry, especially making my own raised panel doors. I currently use a Bosch 1617EVS 2.25hp router, either by hand or with a router table. I'm considering a set of profile bits that includes a 3.25 inch raised panel bit. My question is: is my router powerful enough to handle such a large bit, or should I opt for a smaller raised panel bit or potentially a more powerful router?

Check your router's specifications! The user manual indicates that you shouldn't use router bits larger than 2 inches in diameter with the plunge base, but this might not apply when using a router table. So, it could work if you're using it on a table instead of by hand.
I've successfully used Freud 3-piece door bit sets with my Bosch 1617, and it performed just fine. Just remember to pay attention to the RPM settings, and you should be good to go!
Definitely check the router's information for specific limits. It’s always safer to double-check so you don't push your equipment beyond its capabilities.
That's true! It’s crucial to know how you're using it. Just keep an eye on the RPMs, it's manageable as long as you’re careful.
