I'm fed up with my current setup of multiple lamps in my living and dining room. Turning on all those lamps just to light the space is a hassle! I'm looking for a ceiling light that can connect to a switch or outlet without needing a lot of electrical work. Am I making sense? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

If you're into smart home tech, consider getting Philips Hue bulbs for your lamps. You can use a remote to turn them on and off all at once. Plus, you can still add a plug-in ceiling light if you want, just remember the cord will show. It's a trade-off for some easy lighting!
Installing a ceiling light isn't overly complicated. It all depends on your skill level! If you're up for a bit of a challenge, check out a tutorial like the one from Ask This Old House. They break it down well—just be ready to cut into drywall or learn how to fish wires.
You can find a lot of plug-in ceiling lights on Amazon. I need to get one, too! Just keep in mind you'll have a visible cord running to an outlet, but it's an easy fix without complicated wiring.
