I'm looking to get rid of an old IKEA coffee table, but I need to cut it down to fit in my garbage bin. Would a jigsaw be a good choice for cutting the MDF in half, or is there a better tool for this job? I really want to invest in a tool instead of paying someone to haul it away. Any suggestions?

Definitely go for a Sawzall! It's perfect for cutting through MDF. But if you're considering other options, a circular saw could give you cleaner cuts and be more versatile in the long run. Plus, jigsaws can work too, but might not be as efficient for this job. Also, just a heads up, if you live in a big city, some public libraries have tool lending programs where you can borrow tools for free!

That's a super cool idea! I didn't know libraries offered that. I'll have to check my local one!
