I'm in the market for a new 7 1/4 inch circular saw and I've been eyeing the DCS590 paired with the 8Ah powerpack since I could utilize my other 20V batteries. However, I've noticed it stalling during tests on 2x12 lumber after watching some tool reviews on YouTube. I've spotted a good deal at Lowes for $349, which includes two 8Ah powerpacks, but I'm unsure if it's worth the risk. Are any of the other models like the DCS573, DCS574, or DCS578 a better option? Just to note, I currently don't own any FlexVolt tools or batteries.

FlexVolt is definitely a solid choice; it's got loads of power and even though it's heavy, it's quieter than you'd think. I personally lean towards the DCS577 because I prefer having the blade on the left side. Just a little tip: you'll need to get worm drive blades since using regular 7.25” blades might leave the printing facing the wrong way when mounted.
Why does it matter if the printing is on the other side? I don't get what difference that makes.
I've got the FlexVolt and it's been fantastic—plenty of power for tough jobs! You won't regret going that route if you decide to get a FlexVolt saw.
The DCS578 is an absolute powerhouse! I ended up grabbing the DCS590 because I wanted to stay away from buying FlexVolt batteries since I don't have any other FlexVolt tools. Just a heads up, it performs really well!

Good question! It's mainly about visibility—if the printing is on the wrong side, you might not be able to read it easily while cutting, which can be a bit confusing.
