Could This Be Bird Poop Stalagmite in My Attic?

Hey everyone! I've got a situation in my attic with at least two families of birds nesting in there. They're getting inside through gaps in the attic vents because the screens are damaged. While I can't spot the birds, I can definitely hear them chirping away. Recently, I discovered a pile of what looks like bird droppings, but it's too tricky for me to get a good look. Has anyone experienced something similar with animals in their attic? I live in Oregon, which might be relevant. Also, I'm including a link to the image I took: [https://imgur.com/a/lFVtGdj](https://imgur.com/a/lFVtGdj)

Yeah, it sounds like you definitely have some birds roosting in your attic! The poop you're seeing is a clear sign of their activity. I'd recommend waiting until the nesting season is over before sealing up any holes to prevent trapping the birds inside. Once they're gone, make sure to block those entrances up tight! Good luck!

I’ve come across something similar before. The droppings can really pile up and sometimes create stalagmite-like formations if they’re left for a while. It's crucial to handle this carefully—clean it up while wearing gloves and a mask to avoid any health risks. If you're unsure, it might be worth calling a professional to help you out.
