Help! My Wood Floors are Ruined from Vinegar Cleaning – What Can I Do?

Hey everyone, I recently moved into my first apartment and inherited some not-so-great wood flooring from the previous tenants. I tried cleaning it with vinegar since that was what I had on hand, but now after three months, I've noticed that the floors have lost their shine and feel different. The areas I've mopped are rough, and some spots feel a bit raised compared to the untouched parts. I'm looking for a way to fix this without using any heavy chemicals or sanding the floors. I've seen that Shellac is a quick-drying option, but I need something that doesn't smell too strong since my landlord lives above me, and I have about five hours to air out the place. I also can't afford professional help. What's a good way to restore my floors?

You might want to give Parker and Bailey lemon oil polish a try. It's safe for all wood types and should help bring back some shine to your floors without any harsh chemicals. Plus, it’s around 10 bucks and you really don’t need much to cover a large area! Just remember, if there’s already a sealant on the wood, it might not do much but make it smell nice and shiny.

Would that actually help get rid of the vinegar layer on the wood?
