Why Won’t My Garage Door Close?

I've been having this issue where my garage door opens without any problem, but when I try to close it, the light just blinks as if something is blocking the sensors. This has been happening even though it's worked fine for the last few months. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

Sounds like your sensors might be out of alignment or possibly obstructed. Have you checked if anything's knocked them? It's worth adjusting them a bit. You can also look for any damaged wires. If it's an emergency, you can try holding down the button while closing it as a temporary fix.

In some cases, direct sunlight can interfere with the sensors. I had a similar problem where my garage wouldn't close during sunset. The light was hitting one of the sensors directly, making it act like something was in the way. Try to figure out where the sun is at that time and if this could be the issue. You could even move the sensors to a different spot if that's the problem.

The blinking light usually means your sensors aren't lined up. They sit near the bottom of the track, and sometimes they get bumped. One sensor transmits, and the other receives, so if they're misaligned, that could be the issue. There are some handy YouTube videos that explain how to check and fix this.
