I'm looking for a battery-powered bolt cutter that can handle cutting up to 1/4" galvanized steel chain (not fencing, but actual chain). We have the Milwaukee M18 Force Logic tool which might be relevant. We have a lot of chain to cut into different lengths for LOTO on valves, and the environment we're in doesn't allow for sparks, so using an angle grinder isn't an option. We've got some 18" bolt cutters, but we're hoping to find something battery-operated. Does Milwaukee have any tools that would work for this?

Yes, Milwaukee does offer battery-powered options that could fit your needs! Check out the M18 FUEL line; they have several models that can cut through heavy materials. Just make sure to double-check the specs to confirm they meet your requirements for cutting galvanized steel chain. Also, I've heard good things about their portability, which might be useful for the environment you're in.
Another good option is the Milwaukee M18 Metal Cutting Circular Saw. While it's not a bolt cutter, it can cut heavy-duty chain pretty effectively and won't spark due to its design. Just be sure to use the right blade for metal! It's always worth considering alternatives if you're struggling to find the perfect tool.
