Can I Build a DIY Dehumidifier with Spare Parts?

I live in Dhaka where the humidity is intense, and I'm wondering if it's possible to create my own dehumidifier using spare parts I can find around. I'm on a tight budget, and I know that finding the right refrigerant might be a challenge, so I'm looking for some low-cost options that could work.

Yes, you could definitely try! Keep in mind that basic dehumidifiers can heat up the room a bit while removing humidity. If you're resourceful, you could use an old mini fridge or freezer as a starting point. I've created makeshift air conditioners using tubing and a water pump connected to a fan, which works surprisingly well. It might just depend on the materials you can scrounge up.

Are there any good video tutorials for that? I'm completely new to this and could use some guidance!

You might be able to whip something up, but you're going to need a complete refrigeration loop to make it work effectively. Basically, this means you’d need some kind of air conditioner setup as a base.
