What’s the Best Way to Repair a Broken Outdoor Electrical Pipe After a Tree Fell?

I had a tree fall and it cracked my outdoor electrical pipe in half. The electricity is still functional, but I'm not quite sure how to fix the broken pipe. Any advice on the best repair method? Here's a picture for reference: https://imgur.com/a/y2e5M06.

You might not love this answer, but here it goes: What others are saying about the proper fix is spot on. If you want an alternative, you could swap the broken PVC with a metallic conduit. Just fill the hole in the concrete with epoxy, insert the metal conduit (with the wires) into that, and let it harden to rewire the outlet. It could be a solid long-term solution.

There’s no quick way to tackle this. You’ll need to turn off the power first and then break up the concrete with a demo hammer until you reach clean PVC. After that, you can cut and reglue it. For a stronger fix, consider using either a metal or wood power pedestal instead of the existing PVC since it’s exposed. It seems that the previous installation lacked proper support, which isn’t ideal for outdoor setups.

Exactly what I was thinking! But yeah, definitely not an easy fix.

Totally the right approach! You could also apply a strong moldable epoxy as a temporary fix, but keep in mind that PVC doesn’t handle sun exposure well.
