How Can I Help My Overgrown Bermuda Grass Lawn After Mowing It Too Short?

I just mowed my Bermuda grass lawn for the first time after installing it about six weeks ago, but I cut it down quite a bit—almost a foot! Now I've read that it's best not to cut more than a third at a time to avoid shocking it, and I'm worried my lawn might die. What can I do to help it recover and thrive?

Make sure to water it well. Grass is more resilient than you think, and a little TLC with water can go a long way. Just be patient and give it some time to hopefully bounce back!

On top of watering, it's a good idea to let it rest for a little while before mowing again. Definitely avoid any drastic cuts for the time being—maybe wait a few weeks! It should bounce back eventually.

No need to freak out! Bermuda grass is pretty tough and usually bounces back just fine. It might turn a bit yellow and slow down for a while, but with some patience, it should recover. Just remember to water it regularly and keep an eye on it for signs of growth.
