I recently bought a house, and it came with this old flag pole holder that has seen better days. The teeth are worn down, so it doesn't hold the flag anymore. I want to get rid of it since I have a new base piece for my flag. Any tips on how to safely remove this old holder? I've considered using a Dremel to cut it out, but I'm open to suggestions!

If you're dealing with something nailed in, I’d suggest using a sawzall with a metal blade instead of trying to pry it off. It might save you a lot of hassle and prevent damage to your wall!
It sounds like you might be dealing with a type of fastener called a "bang-in". They're designed to expand when hammered in, making them tough to remove. You could try drilling a hole in the center to help get it out. Here’s a link to what they often look like: [Anchor Example](https://www.acehardware.com/departments/hardware/screws-and-anchors/anchors/5334305?store=17335&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAwtu9BhC8ARIsAI9JHalpg6akWVer-ll3G2e71MomkA_gRjOBVnfr7GWmQDL8-jB0jbSiCjsaAgNWEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds)
Just a heads up, prying fasteners out of brick can be tricky. I'd recommend grinding down the heads or using a sawzall on the bolts for a cleaner removal.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely keep that in mind: trying to avoid any damage to the brick!
