I'm in a hot area (Zone 9/10) and I have some large planters that will be available soon. Since I have enough tomatoes already and I plan to use shade cloths starting in July, I'm looking for suggestions on what else I can plant in those planters. Any ideas? Thanks!

How about longevity spinach and perpetual spinach? Those are great from what I've seen, along with okra and cowpeas. Don't forget to add some oregano for flavor and maybe even papalo for a unique twist!
Peppers are great for hot climates! You should definitely throw in some pepper plants to spice things up in your planters. They love the sun!
You might want to consider planting heat-tolerant options like okra, sunflowers, Malabar spinach, various beans, and even melons. Amaranth is another beautiful option that thrives in full sun and can really brighten up your planters!
Using shade cloths is smart. When I lived in a hot area, I found that using larger pots helped significantly. My plants used to be rootbound, and I was watering them twice daily! After switching to bigger pots and using shade during the hottest part of the day, I barely had to water more than every other day. Just keep an eye on the moisture level!
