Hey folks! I'm planning a new project and I'm on the hunt for high-quality teak wood. As someone who's learning the ropes (semi-amateur, maybe?), I really need some solid recommendations. I'm based in the Midwest, so I'm particularly looking for suppliers who can ship the wood my way. I'm hoping to get my hands on it within the next month. I'm open to any suggestions you might have—whether it's a local lumberyard, a good online store, or even a hidden gem you've found. Quality is really important to me, so I appreciate any tips you can share!

If you're considering alternatives, plantation teak is a decent choice. I’ve previously ordered from Chad at Cr Muterspaw in Ohio; he’s got a wide range of options and can help you find what you need! Just a tip, don’t mention I sent you or the prices might go up!
Just a heads up, prices can be steep. I’ve seen teak going for around $60 a board foot here. It’s definitely an investment, but if you really want that premium quality, it might be worth it!
Keep in mind that most teak you'll find now is second or third growth lumber, so it may not have the rich color or figure of the old growth. If you're flexible, look into other tropical hardwoods that offer good weather resistance for a better price. Check out diamondtropicalhardwoods.com for some options!
You might want to reach out to some local sawmills in your area. They often have good quality wood and might be able to give you a fair deal!

Yikes! That's a bit high. I found it for $27 a board foot the last time I checked, but it’s always good to shop around!
