Could My New Raised Garden Beds Attract Ducks?

I recently built a couple of raised vegetable beds and just planted some seeds. This morning, I noticed two mallard ducks hanging out near my new garden. I live quite a distance from any water source—at least a quarter-mile—and I've never seen ducks in my yard or neighborhood before. Should I be concerned about ducks raiding my plants?

Ducks can definitely munch on seedlings! They're quite the little plant enthusiasts. If you happen to have nesting ducks, that could complicate things too, as they won't appreciate you working nearby. It might get a bit chaotic if you try to tend to your garden around them.

You might want to consider building a barrier if you're worried about them. And hey, at least you didn’t get any storks! They can be way more troublesome. ?

Honestly, I've had a few random duck visitors show up during the spring and rainy seasons. They usually don’t stay long, though. As long as you keep an eye on them, you might be okay!
