Hey everyone! I made a bit of a blunder this winter. I forgot to disconnect my hose, and when the temperatures dropped, my spigot's cap popped off. After replacing the cap and the vacuum breaker, I finally turned the water on, but now I have a leak inside my house. It only leaks when the hose is attached, the spigot valve is open, and the water isn't flowing. If I turn the water off or close the spigot valve, there's no leak. So, my question is, what do you think I broke, and can I fix it myself, or should I call a plumber?

It sounds like the tubing of your spigot has split inside the house. Unfortunately, that can't be repaired, so you’ll need to replace the whole assembly. Sorry to hear about the mishap!
You're going to have to replace it. When you leave the hose on over the winter, water doesn’t fully drain from the valve once it’s closed and that can cause splits. If you're feeling handy, check out some DIY videos for a step-by-step guide!
Yeah, I had a similar issue with mine! You’ll likely need to replace the entire spigot assembly. There’s usually a small fracture that causes the leak when there’s pressure from the hose. Definitely best to get this fixed up soon!
Just keep in mind that it might be buried behind some drywall. If that's the case, you'll likely need to open up some space to get to it. You got this!
