I'm really struggling to find a garden hose that fits my outdoor spigot, and I'm hoping someone can help! I recently bought a 3/4" hose since I thought that was the standard size. However, my spigot has a diameter of 1 inch, and the connectors on all the hoses I've tried are too small to attach properly. I've also attempted to purchase various adapters, but they've either been too big or too small. As a first-time homeowner, this is driving me crazy! I've explained this issue to staff at hardware stores, but nobody seems to understand what I'm talking about. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I faceplanted into the same issue not long ago! Make sure you get a proper hose thread adapter that will convert your 3/4” hose to fit the 1-inch spigot. Remember to check if your hose has a male or female end as that affects the type of adapter you need. Sometimes it just takes a little trial and error, but you can get there!
It sounds like you're dealing with a common issue! Here’s what you might want to try: first, check if your spigot is indeed a standard size. Sometimes it helps to measure it directly. If it is 1 inch, you’ll need a hose with a compatible adapter or a hose that can fit that size directly. I’d recommend visiting a specialty plumbing store if the big chain stores aren’t getting it right; they usually have a wider variety of parts and knowledgeable staff. Good luck!
Yeah, I tried the big box stores too with no luck. You might also consider getting a slip-on adapter that can accommodate the 1-inch spigot instead of trying to find the exact hose that fits.

Exactly! Just be patient with it, and don’t be afraid to ask for help at the store specifically about hose adapters. They should know the different fittings.
