Hey everyone! I've come across some advice online and even watched a video from a professional gardener talking about how you can trim up to 2/3 of a plant's roots. I'm curious if trimming my geraniums' roots by about 1/3 would be risky or if it could actually help them. My geraniums are about four years old and definitely need repotting; their roots are getting pretty big and messy. I also want to add some other plants into the mix. Has anyone tried trimming roots on their geraniums and had good results? Or would it be better to skip this step?

The great thing about geraniums is that they're tough cookies! They’re not easily killed, so a little root trimming shouldn’t be a dealbreaker. If you're nervous, just take some cuttings and pot them up as a backup. But honestly, I doubt you’ll run into any issues with the trim.
Totally! I’ve done the same when my plants got root bound and it worked out well. There's this guy who trims his houseplants regularly, and he hasn't had to upgrade his pots at all. If you have solid instructions, go for it! Just make sure you know what you're doing.
