Experiencing Charging Errors with New Batteries—What’s the Deal?

I've recently picked up some new tools and batteries, but I've run into some issues. Out of the six batteries I got, four have been giving me charging errors, showing a flashing red and green light on the charger. The batteries include three 5.0 Ah M18 Red Lithium and one 2.0 Ah M18 Red Lithium. I initially thought the chargers were the problem, but I've tried three different ones and they all show the same issue. Interestingly, two of the 5.0 Ah batteries seem to charge just fine. Am I doing something wrong? What could be causing this? Thanks in advance for your help!

Make sure the batteries are fully slid into the charger—sometimes they need a good push to seat properly. I've had to really press mine in to get them to charge. It's different from other brands where they click into place; Milwaukee’s need a firmer fit because they rely on friction.

It sounds frustrating! The quality control on these batteries can be hit or miss, but it does seem odd that you'd have so many failing at once. It might just be either how you're inserting them or possibly an issue with the chargers, since you’ve tried several.
