Best Deals for 20V Dewalt Batteries in Canada?

I'm on the hunt for the best prices on 20V Dewalt batteries in Canada. Specifically, I'm looking at the 20V/5AH model—is getting it for $100 CAD a decent deal? Please note, I'm only considering genuine Dewalt batteries, not any knockoffs from places like Amazon.

If you're in the Toronto or GTA area, Atlas Tools is having an in-store only sale on Dewalt this weekend!

You might be able to score new batteries on marketplace for under $100, but the catch is that you usually can’t verify where they’re from, and Dewalt may not honor the warranty without proof of purchase. I bought a couple of power stacks and a 5AH from there, and they worked fine for me.

A good strategy is to buy tools as kits when there’s a solid deal and then sell the extra tool. For example, I just grabbed a sander from Home Depot for around $250 with tax, which came with a charger and a free router. I can easily sell the router for about $175, meaning that I effectively paid just $75 for the sander and the battery! The same goes for a hedge trimmer I’m eyeing; it’s advertised at $200 but comes with a battery and charger for $250. I might buy that kit too and sell the extras for a profit.

If you're collecting Canadian Tire money, you can sometimes find some good deals that cut the effective cost from around $100 to much less. Also, if you buy a combo pack at Home Depot with a tool and battery (and get one free), they prorate the prices. You can possibly return the tool you don’t want and keep the battery at the lower price. Just a heads-up, this might not work for online purchases. Check out some Home Depot hacks for more details. A local store called Squares Hardware had 15% off all Dewalt last week. That could drop that $100 battery to about $85, then HD would price match it down to around $76.50!
