Hey everyone! I recently got my first set of tools, including a circular saw, a drill set, speed squares, and a workbench. I've been on the lookout for some beginner-friendly plans to start projects with, but most of what I find online is in US Imperial units. I'm a bit confused about whether I can just convert those plans to metric units or if I should find something specifically designed for metric measurements. Are there any good resources or links out there that offer plans in metric? Or is it easy enough to just round the conversions and keep it simple? I'd really appreciate any help from you all! I’m not sure where to find specific plans, but I personally always work in metric. I use metric measuring tapes and even fitted a metric blade in my square. It just makes things easier without having to deal with the confusing ratios in imperial!
If you’re looking for plans, Richard Maguire offers everything in both imperial and metric. Also, check out layout.computer; you can build projects in imperial and then switch to metric if needed. There's a book called 'Hammer and Nail' that’s all about furniture building using dimensional lumber—it might be worth a look!

Yeah, converting is usually pretty simple when going from imperial to metric. As someone from the US, I often think we should just switch to metric to match the rest of the world. It’s easier in many cases!
A lot of YouTube creators actually provide their plans in both metric and US customary units. For instance, I bought a plan from Michael Alm that included both measurements. Converting from US Imperial to metric is pretty straightforward too; it might even be fun to use AI to convert a bunch of plans at once!
