I'm wondering about the acceptable limits for complaining about my neighbor's kids who scream and play football every evening until 9 PM in their garden. I get that kids playing outside is great and should be supported, but it feels like the noise is overwhelming sometimes, and I can't enjoy my own garden anymore. At what point do I have the right to say something?

It’s tough, especially with longer evenings now. I usually keep my kids in by 7 on weekdays and 9 on weekends but I always remind them about being considerate with noise. It might be worth asking the neighbors if they can help keep the noise down a bit, especially since you want to enjoy your own space too.
Honestly, you might want to wait until around 10:30 PM to complain. But keep in mind that having kids play is pretty common, especially if they're not glued to screens all evening. It’s about finding that balance between letting them have fun and maintaining some peace. If their screaming really bothers you, maybe have a polite conversation with the parents about keeping it down a bit earlier in the evening.
If the noise is causing you distress, it’s definitely okay to say something. Kids playing outside is normal, but if they’re screaming excessively, it would be fair to ask the parents to talk to them about it. Just approach the situation respectfully; you can let them know that while you understand kids need to play, it’s getting tough for you to enjoy your garden.

Exactly! If you approach them in a friendly way, they might be open to listening. Just drop a note or say it casually next time you see them.
