Should I Discharge My Batteries at Night or Keep Them Charged?

I'm trying to figure out the best approach for managing my battery usage. Should I let my batteries discharge at night when they're not being used and pull from the grid when necessary, or is it better to keep them charged up? What are the pros and cons of each option?

I have my batteries set to discharge down to 55% before switching to the grid. By doing this, I've cut down on my electric bill due to fewer transmission fees, and most days I hardly ever pull power from the grid. But I’ve got a backup for when the power goes out, which helps me stay prepared!

That sounds smart! I just realized how important backup power is after my generator failed during a short outage. Keeping a decent charge is key, especially in winter when sunlight is limited.
