I've built a 16-inch deep raised garden bed in my backyard, but I'm struggling with Bermuda grass. The bed is lined with cardboard, but I'm noticing Bermuda rhizomes creeping up the walls. So far, they haven't invaded the center, but I'm constantly pulling them out as I see them. I didn't think to dig up the sod beforehand, and now I'm wondering - is my garden bed doomed to be infested forever, or is there hope? Should I just keep pulling them out?

Unfortunately, Bermuda grass thrives in nutrient-rich soil like yours. It’s tough to win that fight. Just keep an eye out for it; pulling it out after rain seems to help since the soil’s softer. Good luck! You've got a challenging battle ahead of you!
Ugh, Bermuda grass is a nightmare! I fought it for years after it spread from a neighbor's yard. It grows in any little crack it can find. My advice? Whenever you see any bit of green peeking out, pull it out immediately. The roots can grow into super long strands, so you really want to cap them off before they can spread. I even resorted to solarizing my beds to reclaim them. Don't give up! Keep battling it!
I feel your pain! I mix a solution of white vinegar, dish soap, and Epsom salts and spray it around the edges of my bed. Seems to help, but you have to stay on top of it. Also, cutting a line around your bed with a flat shovel can help sever the rhizomes before they grow into your soil. Just be persistent!
