Experiences With Stacking Hybrid Inverters for Higher Loads?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade our power setup at the family ranch since I've outgrown my current 5kW inverter system. I'm dealing with a lot of high-demand appliances and tools running simultaneously, like the air compressor, freezer, and well pump, which are starting to put a strain on things.

I'm planning to stack two 5kW hybrid inverters to create a 10kW system. I want to know how well this works in practice. Do they sync right out of the box, or is there some extra work needed with firmware, CAN bus cables, or configuration files? Have you faced any issues with one inverter carrying more load while the other sits idle? How do they handle sudden power spikes, especially when starting heavy equipment like pumps and stoves? Any advice or experiences would be super helpful before I dive into this project!

I paralleled three Growatt SPF3000 inverters, and after connecting them with the right cables, they configured themselves easily. It's been smooth sailing since!

I stacked four 10k Victrons for my welding equipment without any hassle. Just a heads up, they require some configuration for stacking; it’s not quite plug and play. But once set up, they're fantastic!

I've got two 5kW Growatt inverters, and my experience has been great! Just make sure you get the link cables, and they sync up perfectly. It was pretty seamless for me!

You might want to think twice if you're leaning towards the cheaper hybrids from China. The quality might be lower, and you may miss out on decent tech support, which can be crucial!

Be sure to check the manuals of your specific inverters for stacking info. Generally, quality hybrid inverters manage loads like a bigger unit, but you may notice a higher idle power draw. Just something to keep in mind!

Great point about the manuals! I'll definitely look into that before starting.
