Dealing with an Off-Center Shower Niche in My Remodel

I'm currently remodeling my guest bathroom, and due to some pesky support beams and pipes, I'm facing a bit of a challenge with the shower niche. If I want a niche, it has to be off-center, and it would also be on the back wall of the shower, which is the most visible spot. Normally, I'm really particular about symmetry, but my husband is really keen on having a decorative tile niche as an accent. I'm just wondering—will seeing this off-center niche bother me every time I use the bathroom? Since this is a guest space, I want it to look great!

You know, even if the niche isn't perfectly centered on the wall, it can still look good if it's centered within the tile layout! Just make sure the tile cuts on either side of the niche are the same size, and it’ll help with that aesthetic balance.

I totally get where you're coming from! When I remodeled my place, I had to let go of some things too. You'll find that once you settle in, those little details you think are going to annoy you often fade into the background. As for the off-center niche, it can actually look pretty cool if it’s flush with the wall. Definitely check if that’s an option for you!

Oh, for sure! Here's a peek of what I mean by a niche flush with the wall: [niche flush with wall](https://imgur.com/a/Zva0VlW).
