How Can I Keep Drinks Cold in My Claw Machine?

Hey everyone! I'm new here and really appreciate the advice you all share. I'm looking to add a cooling system to my claw machine because I want to fill it with a variety of alcoholic drinks for my friends to win. I've adjusted the claw strength to handle the cans, but I need some creative ideas on how to keep the drinks cold. I've been brainstorming but I'm too excited about the project to think clearly! Any tips would be fantastic. Thanks, and have a great day!

Sounds like a fun project! Just be careful with that prize chute—drinks can get smashed pretty easily when won!

You know, a creative solution might be to modify a couple of cheap countertop ice machines and attach them to the back of your claw machine. You could set it up to recirculate the meltwater back to keep things cold! If that's too much hassle, you might just want to fill the machine with mini shot bottles instead, which wouldn't need cooling at all!

The simplest way is to just use ice. If you’re looking for something more advanced, consider sealing the machine and refrigerating it. For a bigger challenge, you could try putting both the claw machine and your friends inside a walk-in cooler! Just keep in mind that with any method you choose, condensation could be an issue.

That's true! A cooler with ice might be the easiest route. Just make sure to cover it when not in use to prevent issues.

You could look for a used reach-in cooler and take its refrigeration system. Mount the condenser on the outside of the claw machine to push hot air out, and install the compressor inside with ducting to circulate cold air. Just be ready to pick up some copper soldering skills for this project! Or, another idea is to just move the claw setup into the cooler itself.
