My backyard is completely overrun with wild onions—seriously, it's everywhere! I want to clear them out so I can plant a proper garden with flowers, vegetables, and fruits. I'm considering renting a tiller to help with this, followed by raking out the bulbs. Is this a good idea, or does anyone have better suggestions?

I’d be cautious about using a tiller. It might just chop the wild onions into smaller pieces and make the problem even worse down the line.
If the wild onions are really that bad, you might want to consider solarizing your yard. It's an effective method that could make your job a lot easier. Just cover the area with clear plastic for a few weeks to trap the heat and kill off those bulbs!
Honestly, if you're trying to plant where they're growing, just focus on removing them from that specific area. Wild onions can act as insect deterrents, so they might not be all bad! But for your garden, it's best to get rid of them where you plan to plant.

That's a great idea! I was thinking about trying that too. It seems less labor-intensive than tilling!
