One dehumidifier is draining into a pipe, and another could go into a sump pump. However, I want to add one more unit in a different room, but there's no drain available. Is it feasible for me to drain this last dehumidifier out of a window without having to leave the window open all the time? I'm imagining something like cutting a hole in the glass and using a rubber grommet around the hole to fit the pipe through. This might be a wild idea, but I'm desperate to avoid another mold outbreak like last year. The basement is unfinished and we're using it just for storage for now, but I plan to refurbish it eventually. Any advice?

Honestly, drilling a hole in the glass to let the drain pipe through isn’t the best idea. Instead, if your window has weather seals, you might be able to route the pipe through the closed window without crimping it. Another option is to look into getting a dehumidifier with a built-in pump, which typically uses a smaller drain line and makes it easier to discharge outside without too much hassle. It's definitely more practical than cutting glass!
