I'm planning to buy an M18 1/4 Impact driver for my apprenticeship, and I'm excited about it! However, I need some advice on which batteries and charger I should get to make sure they last a long time. I'm probably going to use it mainly in electrical work, so any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

It really depends on what trade you'll be working in! I love my 3650-20 compact—it’s lightweight and handy to carry around. It's not as powerful as the fuel 2953-20 but offers good power for most tasks, plus it’s faster due to less wind-up time. If you're into HVAC, I recommend checking out the 2760-20 hydraulic impact; it's great for self-tapping screws in tight spaces, even though it's a bit older now.
Definitely a solid choice! I've used the M18 impact driver for quite some time, and, depending on the tasks involved, it should serve you well. Just make sure to invest in batteries that have a good runtime—you won’t regret it!
If you're doing a lot of overhead work, you might want to consider the M12 instead. It's lighter and still packs a punch for many tasks, so it could make your job easier!
