I'm starting my first small 3x3 flower garden and I'm wondering if I really need to add compost to my garden soil this year, or can I hold off until next spring?

Flowers can manage just fine without compost during the first year. You can always add it whenever you want. If you're looking for quick nutrients, a bit of flower fertilizer would do the trick too!
Adding compost is definitely a great idea for any garden, no matter the time of year! It’s not strictly necessary, though. If you don’t use compost right away, your flowers might just be a bit smaller or fewer than they could be. So, if you can, go ahead and mix some in!
Thank you very much!

Thank you! Would compost be more useful if I were growing veggies?
