I received a quote for $4,387 (tax included) for a new patio installation. Now, the contractor is asking for an extra $887 to cover gravel and topsoil grading, which I believe should have been included in the original quote. If the extra work was truly necessary and wasn't specified in the original estimate, then they’re within their rights to request more payment.
