Last week, my mom couldn't open the basement door, and we realized the flooring might be swollen. We hired a contractor to fix the issue, as he said the flooring was caught on the door. He added weather stripping and left after multiple visits. But today, it rained heavily, and I noticed water pouring in through the cracks at the bottom of the door. I've tried contacting him, but he's not responding. Is there an easy fix for this problem?

It sounds like the water is getting in under the threshold or at the bottom of the door. Do you have any photos? Inside and outside shots would help a lot to diagnose the issue better.
You need to consider why water is settling against your door. Ideally, water should be diverted away from it. Adding a rubber door sweep or weather strip at the bottom could help. Just make sure no daylight can be seen through it!
It could be that you need a better threshold installed. Without seeing some images, it’s hard to give a specific solution, but this is a common issue if the threshold isn’t right.

I see what you mean. My mom even tested the weather strip by throwing a bucket of water at the door and water leaked inside!
